TU introduces 2015 Dean's Award

By Chew Yan-Y

SUBANG JAYA – In an effort to empower today’s youth to be able to enter the workforce with makings that employers want, Taylor’s University (TU) has initiated the 2015 Dean’s Award.

The award provides a structured development programme to its recipients, enhancing all aspects of a student’s capability in order to ensure employment after graduation.

It also comes with a scholarship of up to RM20,000 waiver of tuition fees.

TU vice chancellor and president, Professor Dato’ Dr Hassan Said shared that this award is part of the university’s commitment to provide students with access to quality education that will allow them to excel academically and prepare them for the job market.

“Recipients will not only learn about the industry they will move into after graduation but also learn about personal development, people and leadership, professional development, global engagement and career success,” he said in a press release recently.

The award is equipped with a talent development programme that is embedded into the student’s studies so that students will excel in and out of the academic world.

It will help recipients develop their leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

Scholars will have their extra curricular involvements both on and off campus formally recognised in their academic transcripts as part of their eligibility for the university’s Shine Awards, giving them an added advantage over their peers.

The 2015 Dean’s Award is open for application until 5 Oct for current SPM/O-level students.

Interested applicants with good academic results and active involvement in co-curricular activities are encouraged to apply.
