Students not allowed to use air-con without permission

SUBANG JAYA - Students are not allowed to use the air-conditioning system in classrooms or lecture theatres without permission said, Taylor’s University Facilities, Environment, and Health Safety & Administration vice president Murali Rajoo.
Murali said practices like this are contributing to energy wastage in the Lakeside campus.
“Sometimes we see only one or two students occupying the whole classroom with air-conditioning switched on.
“These are the kind of practices we need to eliminate in the future,” he said.
However, Murali added that not many students are aware that such activities are wrong.
“We are working together with the Student Council to create campaigns that can help increase the awareness level among students,” he said.
These campaigns will be held early next year.
“Everybody has their role to play in supporting our initiatives to conserve energy,” he added.
