SUBANG JAYA – Over 700 freshmen were present at the Orientation Party (OP) themed ‘Ancient Greece’ organized by Taylor’s University (TU) Orientation Leaders, held on 27 Aug here.
OP team person-in-charge Mandy Tan said, “We went with this theme because we found that the historical and cultural background would allow freshmen to dress up.”
OP is a night where orientation leaders work together with the TU management, Student Development Hub and various sponsors to welcome new students.
Another OP person-in-charge Alvin Tan Shing Yeou said, “The event was successfully done because orientation leaders were prepared for any worst case scenarios like bad weather.
“We aim to create the next level of life experience; the best experience for the new students.”
Foundation in Business student Sayed Nofal, 19, added that the party was an awesome experience to kick-start his university life.
Alvin said the arrangement of performances during the event was one of the essential factors that kept the crowd going. It also set a good ambience for interactions among freshmen.
Shalinn Tan, 19, majoring in architecture said, “The party was awesome. When is the next one?”
Mandy said, “We are delighted that the freshmen responded positively to our hard work. Orientation leaders also aim to benefit and surprise new students during the party.”
Liao Jun Ye, 19, majoring in culinary arts said the performances were amazing and suggested to have more snacks served until dinner.
The party was held at the amphitheatre with performances from music band Chocolate Animal Killers, beatboxer Demon, singer James, Ace dancers and DJ Michael.
The sponsors of the event, Juice Works and Mission Q gave out vouchers during the event.
