SUBANG JAYA- Taylor’s Univeristy music enthusiasts gathered for vocal lessons from Juwita Suwito during a music workshop held here on 10 Sept.

The workshop session by 440 Records and ROLAND was joined by 25 students. They were divided into groups to perform on stage and were guided on their singing and performing skills.

Juwita said the objective of the workshop is to give the students a new perspective on the possibilities that lie before them.

“Some of them here wish they could have pursued music but couldn’t. It’s to show that you don’t have to be a music student to pursue your passion,” added the singer-songwriter.

Public relations and marketing major Chew Wee Li, 21, said the session provided useful performing tips, songwriting skills and singing gracefully while having fun at the same time.

“Her many years of experiences locally and internationally is a solid evidence on what she has accomplished today. I will definitely apply the skills learned to my future performances,” Chew added.

Vocalist Au Soung Hui 21, majoring in engineering also said, “The workshop taught me to appreciate music compositions a lot more and to hear beyond the main melodic line.”
